Details

Bizen ware, one of Japan’s Six Ancient Kilns, has been made in Okayama since the 12th–13th century.
This unglazed matcha bowl was wood-fired, producing natural ash patterns and fire marks on its reddish clay body.
Its weight and solidity give a sense of grounded presence, valued in the tea ceremony for expressing the raw elements of earth and flame.
